S.H.I.N.E. RECOVERY SERVICES
What is S.H.I.N.E.?
S.H.I.N.E. (Sober Health Initiative-Elevate) is a rural community health initiative aimed at increasing access to medication-assisted treatment for individuals with Substance Use Disorder (SUD), Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) or Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) in Greenbrier County.
Office-based MAT Services Available
- Medication-assisted treatment—FDA approved medications for opioid use disorder
- Treatment for general substance use disorder
- Prescriptions e-prescribed to pharmacy of choice
- Counseling—group and individual
- Testing and treatment for Hepatitis C
- Wound treatment
- In-person and telehealth visits available
- Referrals to supportive services
- Continued care including relapse prevention

Recovery IS Possible!
We are here to assist you throughout your recovery from addiction no matter what stage you are in. You are NOT alone.
- Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialists (PRSS) are available to assist you with lived experience, guidance, advocacy, and mentorship.
- Through a partnership with CHESS Health, we are able to offer the Connections App which allows patients to connect with others in recovery, and have 24-hour access to an experienced PRSS, a library of recovery resources, virtual meetings, and crisis assistance.

Dr. Lauren E. Miller Recognized as Distinguished Fellow
WVSOM Health is proud to congratulate Lauren E. Miller, D.O., Medical Director of the S.H.I.N.E. program, on being named a Distinguished Fellow of the American Osteopathic Academy of Addiction Medicine.
This honor recognizes osteopathic physicians who have made significant contributions to addiction medicine through clinical care, leadership, education and advocacy.
Dr. Miller is a board-certified family physician specializing in rural addiction medicine. Through her leadership with S.H.I.N.E., she helps expand access to compassionate, evidence-based treatment and recovery support for individuals living with substance use disorder.
WVSOM Health is honored to have Dr. Miller’s leadership as part of the S.H.I.N.E. program and celebrates this well-deserved recognition.
